If you like tracking the moon like I do, then this is a grand month. We get not one, but two full moons, each looming large in the sky. The second is a blue moon, as in the phrase “once in a blue moon” which is when there are two full moons that fall within a calendar month.
We’ve been diligently moving forward with all manner of clinic improvements. We recently had a large herb shipment come in, restocking some older herbs and formulas and bringing in new ones (part of this process involves anticipating the upcoming illnesses that may come in such as Autumn allergies).
We have been getting a lot of calls lately about insurance. I’ll say this about insurance – we are committed to do it, but for a tiny clinic with just the two of us operating it, it is an uphill battle to be able to check all this. When we relocated our clinic, we lost our billers that had really held our hands for nearly ten years. We have someone amazing working on things, but are still getting our ducks in a row for being able to efficiently and quickly check if you have coverage. At this time, the first step you should do is call the company yourself and see if there are OUT of NETWORK benefits, and what those might be. We are still OUT of NETWORK, however the summer is drawing to a close and I did anticipate we will be IN NETWORK by the summer’s end with at least a few of them. If I had to make a guess, we will be accepting the VA and Harvard Pilgrim by the end of August, but this is my being optimistic.
If you are interested in coming and seeing us, we hope you would consider paying out of pocket until such time as we are in network. We are in the process of credentialing with all the big carriers, Harvard Pilgrim, Anthem, Aetna, Cigna, BCBS, the VA. I probably missed a couple. We are running a special CONTINUING THROUGH AUGUST of HALF OFF the first office visit. Normally that is $150, but right now that will be $75. You are here for 90 minutes and get the works, assessment, acupuncture, and any additional therapy if we think it will be helpful.
If you believe you have acupuncture benefits, then we can take the next step of officially checking for you, which will take about 48 hours. Then we can proceed. In the spirit of the Golden Rule (treat others how you would like to be treated) we’d like to make this as easy as humanly possible for you, the patient. That’s our goal, but it will be some time before we are able to be efficient with it. Thank you for your patience!
